Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy treats chronic pain, such as tendinitis, using a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment. It’s one of the most current methods of pain reduction, and is used to help patients rehabilitate faster. It uses rapid frequency vibration (RPW). When applied to the area where the pain is, it increases blood flow, reduces muscle spasm, and reduces pain. It accelerates healing, while decreasing pain.

Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

Registered Physiotherapist will perform:
  • An Assessment
  • A Customized Treatment Plan
  • Treatment (which may include hands on techniques, exercises, therapeutic modalities and/or acupuncture)

Active Release Technique is a new and highly successful hands-on approach to injuries of muscles, tendons, fascia, nerves and the surrounding soft tissues. It is similar to some massage techniques, only it’s more aggressive. The key is being able to know where to look for adhesions, how to feel for them and how to use active motion of the body part to break them up.

Acupuncture aims to balance energy in the body in order to keep it functional and healthy.  This therapeutic method is used to:
  • Encourage natural healing
  • Reduce or relieve pain
  • Improve function of affected areas of the body

Acupuncture stimulates the body to produce its own pain relieving chemicals called endorphins.  The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture stimulates the body's natural healing abilities.

Acupuncture is very effective in treating a variety of painful disorders, both acute and chronic.  It is often used as an effective adjunct to the following treatments: physiotherapy, massage therapy or chiropractic.
